Business owner Lou at Foam Hair Salon Somerville smiling

Lou

Lou has been hairdressing for over 10 years and recently made the move to the Mornington Peninsula with her family — fully expecting a slower pace of life, but in no way prepared for the warm and enthusiastic welcome she has received from the Somerville community.

Her background has always been a mix of lived-in colour and cuts, but after spending the last 4 years deep in the bridal world there’s also a very real love for polished hair, soft glam and a proper good blowout.

One thing that matters a lot at Foam is creating hair that actually works outside the salon. A haircut should still make sense when someone styles it themselves at home, not just after a 45-minute salon blow-dry and six products nobody owns. The goal is always hair that feels good, looks good and is manageable in real life.

Foam is also very intentionally low on pretentious hair energy. No pressure to know trending TikTok terminology, no gatekeeping and no expectation to speak fluent “hairdresser” to explain what you want. Just good vibes, good hair and a space that feels comfortable to walk into.
